The Banggai Cardinalfish boasts a striking silver color with contrasting black stripes and white spots, as well as long, remarkable fins. This species is commonly found throughout Indonesia and Asia, and is known to be more resilient than its wild-caught counterparts. To mimic its natural habitat, a tank size of at least 30 gallons is recommended, along with a cave and compatible tankmates. Due to its aggressive nature towards other members of its species, it is best to keep only a few together. Breeding this fish is relatively simple, with the male carrying the eggs in its mouth during spawning. A varied diet consisting of meaty foods such as feeder shrimp, seafood, bloodworms, and live feeder fish (adjusted for size) is essential.
